⛏️ Mine Operations SOP Library

Welcome to the Ridgeline Copper Mine SOP library. These are the controlled operating procedures for all employees and contractors on site. Always use the current revision from this library.

Sample content. Ridgeline Copper Operations is a fictional company. The procedures are realistic examples; a real site must adapt them to its own equipment, ground and regulations and have them approved by a competent safety person.

How to use these SOPs

  1. Find the SOP for the task in the table below.
  2. Read it before starting, and brief your crew.
  3. Follow every step. Stop the job if a stop-work trigger occurs.
  4. Report problems. SOPs are reviewed every 12 months and after every incident.

The golden rules

  • Isolate, lock, test, then work.
  • Nobody in the danger zone before a blast.
  • Inspect the ground before you work under it.
  • No permit, no entry.
  • If you can fall, you are protected.
  • Heavy equipment cannot see you.
  • Raise the alarm first, then help.
  • Report every incident and near miss.
