💤 Fitness for work and fatigue

If you are too tired, too unwell or affected by anything to work safely, tell your supervisor before you start. You will not be penalised.

Fitness for work check

Every shift starts with a short check at the pre-shift meeting. You confirm you slept, are well, and are not affected by medication, alcohol or drugs. See the pre-shift SOP (SOP-MIN-001).

Fatigue rules

Warning signs

  • Heavy eyelids, microsleeps, drifting in your lane
  • Missing things you would normally see
  • Irritability or poor decisions
  • Needing caffeine just to keep your eyes open

If you see a colleague showing these signs, say something. Call the supervisor and keep them away from equipment.
