When someone leaves, do these things in order. It protects the person, the crew and the site.
- Resignation letter received and acknowledged by HR within 2 working days.
- Last day and notice agreed. For fly-out departures, book the flight.
- Hand over tasks and outstanding permits; remove them from isolation and permit registers.
- Return access card, radio, keys, PPE and tools; stores confirm.
- IT access disabled on the last day; email and files archived.
- Final pay, leave payout and retirement paperwork processed by Payroll.
- Exit interview with HR; record reasons and feedback.
Never leave a person's lock on a machine. Check the isolation register for any lock owned by the leaver before they fly out (SOP-MIN-014).
