Performance reviews run twice a year. They are conversations, not paperwork.
| Month | Step | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| March | Goal setting | You and your supervisor agree 3 to 5 goals including one safety goal and one development goal |
| June | Mid-year check-in | Honest progress review; adjust goals if the work has changed |
| September | Self assessment | You write a short summary of your achievements and what you learned |
| October | Calibration | Supervisors compare ratings across crews for fairness |
| November | Year-end review | Final rating, pay review input, development plan |
| Rating | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Outstanding | Consistently exceeds expectations and lifts the crew |
| Strong | Meets and often exceeds expectations |
| Solid | Meets expectations |
| Needs improvement | Below expectations; support plan agreed |
Safe behaviours count as much as output. Reporting a near miss and stopping an unsafe job are part of your rating, not an interruption to it.
