User types

Creating a user

1. Setup > System > Users > New.
2. Login credentials: username, initial password (or Send password reset email so they choose it), email.
3. Personal information: first and last name, language, time zone and localization (date and number formats), default menu (the screen it opens with).
4. User type.
5. For a user who is not an administrator, on the right:

- Modules: which groups of screens they see (tick or untick each one). - Importers: when one or more Importers are ticked, the user only sees the documents, inventory and Stock position of those Importers. That is how a customer is given access to look up their goods.

API key

The user's API Key section generates a key for external integrations (Generate new key); it is copied with a click and revoked with Remove. The key acts with the user's permissions.

Passwords

• The user changes it from their own menu (Change password).
• An administrator can set it from the record when the Setup_PasswordPolicy_AllowAdminPasswordChange policy allows it, or send the reset email.
• The policy (length, upper case, numbers, special characters, expiry in days, no repeating the last N) is under Configuration, section Setup_PasswordPolicy.

User sessions

Setup > System > User sessions lists the active sessions and the sign-in attempts (successful, failed, locked, resets) with date, IP address and device. Every active session has a button to close it; useful to kick out a user who left a session open on another computer.
