User sessions

The User sessions screen shows everyone signed in to LogisticaHQ right now: who they are, whether they are on the web, a handheld or another system, where they connected from, when they signed in and when they last did something. Use it to see who is working, to message someone, or to sign a user out, for example when a handheld was left signed in or a session must end before a change.

Open Setup > System > User sessions.

The User sessions list showing one signed-in user with their name, role, source, address, creation time and last activity

What the columns show

ColumnMeaning
User, NameWho is signed in.
ClientFor a client user, the client they belong to.
RoleAdministrator, User, PortalUser or FieldUser.
SourceWhat they are signed in with: the Web application, a Handheld, or another channel such as the API.
IpThe internet address the session connects from.
CreatedHow long ago they signed in.
Last activityHow long ago they last did something. The list is sorted by this column, most recent first.

Message or sign out a user

Each row, except your own, has two buttons in the Action column:

  • Send message opens a chat message to that person. It appears on their screen or handheld. See Messages and chat.
  • Logout ends that session at once. The person is returned to the sign-in screen and must sign in again.

Click Refresh to reload the list.

When sessions end on their own

  • After a period of inactivity. A session ends when it has not been used for the time set in Configuration > Setup - System > Number of minutes before session expires, 120 minutes by default. See Configuration.
  • When the same user signs in elsewhere. Each user can be signed in on one device at a time. Signing in on a second device ends the first session. Give every person their own user rather than sharing one.

The number of people who can be signed in at the same time is limited by your license. See Tenant.
