A third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse stores and ships goods for other companies, its clients. LogisticaHQ keeps every client's stock, orders and documents apart, lets each client see its own data in a self-service portal, and turns the work you do for each client into an invoice.
What 3PL covers
| Topic | What it covers |
| Clients | Each client's details, documents, labels and SSCC numbering, email notifications and portal. |
| Billing overview | How storage and activity become invoices. |
| Billing profiles | The rates and rules each client is billed by. |
| Invoices | Generating, reviewing, posting and sending invoices. |
| Billing query library | Ready-made queries for SQL billing rules. |
How client data stays separate
- Everything belongs to a client. Products, customers and vendors are created for a client; orders take the client of their customer, purchase orders the client of their vendor. Once one client exists, every new product must have a client.
- Stock never mixes by mistake. By default a bin cannot hold products of two clients, and the same SKU of another client is always refused. Zones and bins can be reserved for one client. See Zones.
- Client users see only their client. A user assigned to a client sees that client's products, orders, stock and invoices, on every screen, report and in the REST API. See Users.
- Each client's documents are its own. Packing slips, bills of lading and invoices carry the client's company name, address, logo and wording, and its labels carry the client's GS1 company prefix.
Getting started with a new client
- Create the client and complete its details, documents and compliance numbers. See Clients.
- Create its products, customers and vendors, choosing the client on each.
- If the client needs its own space, reserve zones or bins for it.
- Set up its billing profile. See Billing profiles.
- Turn on its portal and create its portal users.
- Receive its first stock.
