CBSP Codes

CBSP Codes

CBSP Codes are Panama's official goods and services classification system required by the Direccion General de Ingresos (DGI) for electronic invoicing. Every product on an electronic invoice must carry a CBSP code so the Tax Authority can categorize the transaction. CifraHQ organizes these codes in a two-level hierarchy: Segments (broad categories) and Families (sub-categories within a segment).

Where to find it

Go to Inventory > CBSP Codes.

CBSP Codes list page in CifraHQ.

CBSP Codes list, government tariff codes used on customs documents.

How the hierarchy works

Level Example Description
Segment 10 -- Food and Beverage Top-level grouping; identified by a 2-digit code
Family 1010 -- Dairy Products Sub-grouping within a segment; identified by a 4-digit code

The page displays both panels side by side. Click a segment row to filter the Families panel to that segment only. Click Clear filter to show all families again.

What the lists show

Segments panel

Import and export

Use the Import button to bulk-load codes from an .xlsx file with two sheets:

  • Segments sheet: columns Code, Name
  • Families sheet: columns Code, SegmentCode, Name

Rows are upserted by Code -- existing records are updated and new ones are added. Use Export to download the current list to Excel.

Tips

  • CBSP codes are shared reference data. Changes affect all Products that reference a code.
  • Assign the appropriate Family code to each product in the product catalog so that electronic Invoices are accepted by the DGI without rejection.
