Transfer Shipments
Transfer Shipments
When you release a Warehouse Transfer, CifraHQ automatically creates a Transfer Shipment to record what left the source warehouse and when. This document is the outbound leg of the two-step transfer process — it confirms the quantity shipped, reduces the source Inventory balance, and feeds directly into the Transfer Receipt at the destination.
Where to find it
Go to Inventory > Transfer Shipments.

How Transfer Shipments fit the flow

Transfer Shipments are created automatically from a Warehouse Transfer — you do not create them independently.
Document lifecycle
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Draft | Shipment created; quantities can still be edited |
| Released | Shipment confirmed; Inventory leaves the source warehouse |
| Archived | Shipment closed after the corresponding Transfer Receipt is posted |
What the lines show
| Column | Description |

| Quantity | Number of units shipped from the source warehouse |
| Pack Size | Pack size for pack-size-controlled Products |
| Received Quantity | Units confirmed at the destination so far, pulled from the linked Transfer Receipt |
Tips
- Shipping a partial quantity is fine. If only part of the order is ready to go, enter the actual units being loaded. The Transfer Receipt records exactly what arrives, and the transfer stays open for the balance.
- For lot-, serial-, or expiry-controlled Products, capture the tracking details per line here — this is the authoritative record of which specific lots left the warehouse.
- Once archived, the Transfer Shipment is read-only. Open the parent Warehouse Transfer if you need a summary of the full movement.
